Many private jets offer Wi-Fi, and more operators are providing it for free.
At Insijets, we classify aircraft in two categories:
- No Wi-Fi. This means Wi-Fi is not available
- Wi-Fi capable. This means the aircraft has Wi-Fi, either for free or for a fee
- Free Wi-Fi is common on domestic flights within the US. However, for international flights, Wi-Fi is charged by the megabyte, which can become quite expensive. For example, using Wi-Fi on a flight from Europe to the US could cost anywhere from $300 to $6,000.
What is the cost of Wi-Fi on a private jet?
The cost varies depending on the operator and region, ranging from $3.00 to $8.50 USD per megabyte. Accessing social media sites filled with images and videos can quickly cost $20. Downloading a full-length movie could end up costing thousands.
If Wi-Fi is an essential part of your flight experience, ensure you know the costs involved before booking your flight. Your broker should be able to provide you with this information.
