The Falcon 6X program

The French firm is working hard on the Falcon 6X program, which was begun four years ago in response to competition. And now that Dassault Aviation expects its twin-engine aircraft to reach service by the end of the year, the timetable is considerably busier.

The Falcon 6X program

The Falcon 6X program, which was launched four years ago in response to competition, is being carried out with zeal by the French manufacturer. And the schedule is even busier now that Dassault Aviation expects its twin-engine jet to enter service by the end of the year. Engineers have been hard at work since the first prototype’s inaugural flight last year. Dassault Aviation has had to face numerous challenges related to the Covid period, which has disrupted the routine of the teams in charge of developing the program.

Falcon 6X program - already a market leader

Only the vertical stabilizer, cockpit, and fuselage width remain unchanged from the Falcon 6X. Dassault has used this program to provide a spacious cabin with a length of 12.30 m and a height of 1.98 m. In its optimal configuration, the Falcon 6X cabin can accommodate up to 16 passengers. While it unquestionably provides unrivalled space in its class, it also imposes the Falcon 6X on the market. The Falcon 6X is an out-of-class aircraft due to its interior dimensions and performance. The jet offers an interior comparable to a G650 while its range of 5,500nm is slightly better than its direct competitor the G500. The Falcon 6X is already a market leader, giving Dassault an advantage in this strong competitive market.
