Microchip
  • Microchip is not required, but it is highly recommended (15 digit ISO 11784 compliant).

Health certificate
  • It is not required to enter into the USA.

  • Dogs traveling from countries where screwworm exist will need a certificate signed by an authorized veterinarian in the departure country; it has to be executed within five days prior to traveling to the USA.
Muzzle and cage
  • Depending on the specific port of entry, U.S. Customs and Border Protection may require certain breeds of dogs to be muzzled or locked in a protective carrier cage.
*Each state and U.S. territory has its own rules, which may differ from federal regulations. For example, Hawaii and Guam require quarantine.
